The funeral procession of James Culley-Blake, a Crimean War veteran, winds down Vogel St in Woodville.
The Masonic Hotel replaced the Abercorn Hotel, which was burnt down. the Masonic still stands today on the corner of Vogel and McLean Sts.
Before Woodville was developed there was a settlement at the eastern end of the Manawatu Gorge.

The museum has an extensive collection of photographs dating back to the 1860s. Many of these photos relate to pioneer families of the district. Work is underway on cataloguing and digitising these photographs.
